The Video message of UN-Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon to the participants of the 46th Munich Security Conference is now available online in the MSC media center at www.securityconference.de.
“We are ready” – This is the appeal of UN-Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon in a video message to the participants of the 46th Munich Security Conference, in which he stresses the necessity for global action against 21st century threats. In addition to traditional security challenges such as war, nuclear proliferation and terrorism, Ban Ki-Moon says, there is a huge consolidation of threats such as poverty, hunger, pandemics and climate change. The Secretary General underlines the slogan of this year’s conference (“No more excuses”); the United Nations are ready to deliver on the threats of today and tomorrow, he says.
Ban Ki-Moon cancelled his European trip and his planned attendance at the 46th Munich Security conference due to the earthquake disaster in Haiti. His video message has been screened at the start of the conference on Saturday morning, February 6th, and is now available available in the MSC media center on the website of the Munich Security Conference. http://www.securityconference.de/
