Munich Security Conference named "Best Think Tank Conference‎"

For the third year in a row, the Munich Security Conference (MSC) is the "Best Think Tank Conference" in the world, according to the University of Pennsylvania's latest "Global Go To Think Tank Index".

The study was published on January 29. "Our top spot in the rankings for the third time serves as a most welcome encouragement to my team: We try to focus on key current and future challenges to global and regional security, and we are proud to contribute to conflict prevention, conflict resolution, and to strengthening the global security architecture."

The University of Pennsylvania's yearly index is based on an international survey of more than 4700 scholars, public and private donors, journalists, and policymakers from 143 countries. The 28 criteria employed to assess the rankings include the impact on society, reputation among policy-makers, and ability to bring together key actors.

The full rankings as well as more information about the index's methodology and the evaluation processes can be found on the University of Pennsylvania's website.

Ambassador Ischinger added: "Without the generous support by our partners from both the public and private sectors, the rise to the top by the Munich Security Conference would not have been possible." Click here for more information about our partners and sponsors.
